Design Me a Sticker

This might well be the most innovative design competition from this part of the world in a long time. The kind of stuff that would get design experts from Copenhagen to Tokyo excited.

Enter the Mulsaq project. Launched last summer, as an open competition for young Middle Eastern designers part of the Khatt Foundation network, Mulsaq, aims at creating the most innovative sticker designs in the region. The one condition: the designs must have an oriental twist.

Launched last year by a series of Paris galleries, curious to explore new markets, the fair has expanded this year to new heights, with no less than 57 galleries from 22 countries. There's also a series of side happenings, truly worth checking out, which we've listed for you.

In his three dimensional large-scale boxes – ‘Ready to Order’, individuals both famous and unknown are immortalized in a flurry of flashing lights, plastic vegetation, and symbolic ‘found’ objects. Eco-Heritage Architecture

Do you think that culture and sustainability can’t mix? Well think again, as Dia Diwan's The Polyglot reveals how Bahrain is re-fashioning its architectural heritage in the 21st century…
Much of the Gulf’s architectural heritage was destroyed during the building boom years of the 70’s and 80’s, as traditional buildings were torn down to make way for gleaming skyscrapers and highways. But on the tiny island Kingdom of Bahrain a revolution has been taking place to not only restore what’s left of its architectural heritage, but also to place it firmly into the 21st century.
