Set in contemporary Gaza, "Eating Ice-cream on Gaza Beach" is about Adrian, a British-Jewish student whose grandfather fought in Palestine in 1948. Now Adrian has traveled to Gaza in an effort "to understand," as he explains to Rami, a Palestinian-Christian ice-cream vendor.
