Art Basel Miami didn't sparkle quite as much as it has in years past.  However, most people seemed genuinely relieved to be out of London and New York, the capital cities of the doom and gloom attitude that has taken everyone over.  The two best parties of the week were actually at the beginning of the fair (before fair-goers realized that they couldn't escape the crisis).  These were the house party that Monika Kalpakian hosted on Monday night and the New York Times party on Tuesday night at the penthouse of the Raleigh Hotel, marking the beginning of Design Miami. 

To call Jordan's Queen Rania one of the Middle East’s most iconic figures is somewhat of an understatement, considering that Time magazine dubbed her the new face of Arab feminism for the 21st century.

Possibly the best PR machine Jordan has ever encountered, she has managed to impress both foreign dignitaries and Western journalists alike. I wasn’t always this way. When I was a single career girl in the Big Apple, (ah…the days!), I used the little stove in my apartment exactly twice in five years; both apparently events so momentous that I can remember what I cooked.
